Mom & Dad Check-In: Affordable Support for Seniors Living at Home

Caring for an aging parent or loved one from a distance—or even across town—can be stressful, especially when they’re still mostly independent but might need a little help now and then. You want to be there. You want to check in. But life is busy, and geography doesn’t always cooperate.

At Bay Area Senior Care Placement, we’ve created a simple, affordable solution: the Mom & Dad Check-In Service.

This service is not home care, and it’s not a replacement for medical or personal assistance. Instead, it fills the often-overlooked gap between independence and full-time caregiving—offering practical, flexible support that helps your senior loved one remain safe, supported, and connected in their daily lives.

What Is a Check-In Visit?

Our Check-In Visits are short, non-medical appointments—usually 30 to 60 minutes—designed to provide oversight, assistance, and communication when you can’t be there yourself.

Each visit is tailored to your loved one’s needs and might include things like:

  • General wellness observations and reporting back to family

  • Being present during a repair or service appointment in the home

  • Helping communicate service needs to landscapers, housekeepers, or mobile groomers

  • Delivering birthday treats and arranging FaceTime or video calls

  • Picking up essential items or checking in after a recent hospital discharge

  • Making referrals to trusted service providers (groomers, tech help, mobile dentists, etc.)

Think of us as extended family—the extra set of eyes and ears you wish you could have nearby.

Who Benefits From This Service?

Families often call us because:

  • Their senior loved one lives alone and they’re concerned about safety or isolation

  • They don’t live nearby but still want to make sure someone is checking in regularly

  • Their loved one has had a recent fall, illness, or hospital stay

  • They can’t meet minimum hour requirements for home care agencies

  • They want affordable, flexible support that doesn’t require a long-term contract

Our visits are not hands-on care and do not include help with activities of daily living—but they do provide a crucial layer of oversight, advocacy, and personal connection.

More Than Just Home Visits

Our services aren’t limited to private homes. We also check in on clients living in:

  • Hospitals

  • Skilled nursing facilities

  • Assisted living communities

  • Rehabilitation centers

Whether your loved one needs someone to check in during their recovery, or you simply want updates on how they’re doing in a facility, we’re there to observe, communicate, and support.

Affordable and Flexible

Unlike many home care services that require a minimum number of hours per week, most of our visits are just 30 to 60 minutes. That makes our Check-In Service not only more affordable but also easier to schedule—and easier to use only when needed.

It’s ideal for families who need short bursts of help rather than full-shift coverage.

A Nurse-Led Approach You Can Trust

Our founder, Melody Amirehsani, is a licensed nurse with over 20 years of healthcare experience. She understands firsthand the stress families experience when trying to coordinate care for a loved one, especially when things begin to shift.

Our goal is to be your partner—not just in the moment, but long-term. That’s why we also offer senior placement consulting, should your loved one ever need to explore assisted living, memory care, or another supportive environment. And even after placement, we check in with families to ensure everything continues to go smoothly.

Currently Serving: Tri-City Area

Right now, we proudly offer the Mom & Dad Check-In Service in Fremont, Newark, and Union City. However, we are actively growing and look forward to expanding to additional cities in the Bay Area.

A Simple Way to Start

We make it easy to get started—with no long-term contracts or complicated intake processes. Whether you need one-time support or ongoing check-ins, we’re here to meet your family where you are.
